Plan Less, Travel More

PERSONALIZED TRAVEL CONSULTING

After two decades of wandering the globe, living nomadically, and sharing my stories on Ottsworld, I’ve learned one thing: travel isn’t just about the destinations—it’s about the transformation it brings.

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?

  • You want to explore off-the-beaten-path destinations but don’t know where to begin
  • You’re craving an extended trip—a sabbatical, career break, or even nomadic living—but feel stuck figuring out the logistics.
  • You want to travel solo but feel held back by fear or doubt.
  • You’re overwhelmed by the 15+ hours of trip planning it takes to sort through reviews, compare options, and make sense of it all.

If that’s you, take a deep breath.

The average person spends 15-30 hours planning a week long trip

I’ve been there—and I can help

I am a professional in the travel industry who does this out my desire to get more people traveling and seeing the world. For 18 years I’ve given away free travel advice through my blog because I believe everyone should get to reap the rewards of travel. You deserve honest advice based on a trusted person’s experiences…not AI. I don’t recommend what I wouldn’t and haven’t personally booked.

Frequently Asked Questions about Travel Consulting

As a travel consultant, I help you design custom itineraries tailored to your preferences, focusing on personalization and detailed scheduling. I’ll recommend destinations, activities, and accommodations, but will leave the actual bookings to you. giving you the direct link to book yourself. I don’t handle any of the bookings so you know exactly how your money is being spent. I will help you craft unique, off-the-beaten-path experiences based on my own personal travels and knowledge of the area.

In addition, I can help you with other travel advice specific to your trip, what to pack, where to eat, how to get around with local transport, etc.

A travel agent, on the other hand, specializes in booking and selling travel products like flights, hotels, and tour packages. They often work with suppliers and earn commissions or charge service fees. If you’re looking for pre-arranged trips or need help securing deals, a travel agent is the go-to.

After you schedule a meeting on my calendar, I’ll send you some questions to learn what you want to discuss and ensure that I’m a good fit for what you are looking for. I’ll send you an invoice and travel agreement. You’ll pay me the full amount due by PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle. Then we have a meeting and we start building your ideal itinerary or I answer your travel questions for a specific trip.

I encourage you to plan as far ahead as possible, especially during the summer. 4 – 5 months in advance helps ensure you have access to all the options.

That’s completely fine! If you are going to Japan and want a one day itinerary for Tokyo – I’m happy to do that! I offer travel planning services in whatever increments you need.

No! I consult in all areas of travel. If you have questions about long term travel, sabbatical travel, going on your first solo trip. Or maybe you just have some questions about doing a solo road trip in Ireland – I can help with a variety of travel topics.
